October 9, 1967), commonly know as El Che or simply Che, was a Marxist revolutionary, physician, author , intellectual, guerrilla leader, diplomat, military theorist and major figure in the Cuban Revolution. His iconic image has been the most widely reproduced image of the last century. Whether you see him as the heroic face of Latin American struggles or another figure in the grim history of repression and warfare, his essays and books on tactical guerrilla warfare are educational and worth reading. After the Cuban Revolution, Guevara traveled to many places in Latin America and Africa to help the cause of revolution before being captured and executed in Bolivia on October 9th, 1967. Some time before his death he wrote his own epitaph: ?Wherever death may surprise us, let it be welcome, provided that this our battle cry may have reached some receptive ear and another hand may be extended to wield our weapons.?.
